![]() ![]() ![]() The runoff from the heavy rain and snow melt resulted in moderate to major flooding on parts of the Schoharie Creek from Prattsville to Breakabeen with major flooding also occurring on the Esopus Creek in Ulster County. Temperatures warmed into the upper 50s to lower 60s through the night and into the morning on the 25th with dewpoints surging into the mid and upper 50s to produce blowing fog which decimated the pre-existing deep snow pack, which ranged from 12"-24" across the entire region, falling in an epic storm only one week earlier. 5.93" of rain fell on Phoenicia with 5.72" recorded in Tannersville along with 4.59" Freehold and 3.95" Arkville from Thursday evening through Friday morning with two to three inches of rain soaking parts of the the southern Adirondacks with the rest of the region coming in with anywhere from three quarters of a inch to an inch and a half. An extreme four to six inches of rain soaked the east facing slopes of the eastern Catskills with parts of Greene, southern Delaware, and Ulster counties the epicenter for the excessive rainfall and the subsequent significant flooding which occurred.
